#1 Google Position Achieved!

It's 9:30 on Saturday night and I am really excited...

Many of you may not know that the web site for Dynamic Web Marketing Secrets was launched on November 15th, 2007. At that time I was starting from scratch (just like some of you). I had purchased my domain name http://www.dynamicwebmarketingsecrets.com and fully optimized my web site for the search engines. Now I was ready to launch. I was starting out from ground ZERO. I had NO SEARCH ENGINE Ranking at all on November 15, 2007...OUCH!

When I run a SEO campaign for a customer, part of my disclaimer is that I have no control over how fast the search engines will spider your site and change your search engine ranking based on the work that I do. I am always very clear that it can take from 2 to 18 weeks to see any changes in your ranking in the major search engines. For brand new web sites and domains that have never been indexed before it can take even longer.

Let's just say that I was officially my WORST customer. On November 15th when I launched my site, it was fully optimized and ready to go, but was not listed in the search engines at all. On November 15th I submitted it to the major search engines and then I had to play the waiting game just like all of you... Waiting SUCKS! I was officially my WORST customer. Many of my customers will call me a couple weeks after the submission and want to know why nothing is working, they are getting ranked! I was no different...I was checking my ranking the day after I submitted the site!

My domain name got indexed and listed in Google on November 22nd (according to Google's webmaster tools reports). From there I started to make some tweaks and changes to the site and I am very pleased to say that as of today, December 1, 2007 I have landed the #1 Search Engine Position for the search term "dynamic web marketing secrets"! (this was one of my goal keyword search terms). Even further, I have reached page 2 of the Google returns for the search term "web marketing secrets"! (another of my goal keyword search terms)

I am still working on the other 3 search phrases that I originally decided to focus on, and as soon as I get them, I will be sure to let you know. I'm very pleased with the speed and quality of the rankings I have been able to achieve so far by using the secrets contained in the SEO chapter of my book Dynamic Web Marketing Secrets.

As of today, I am officially my BEST CUSTOMER!

Sincerely,
Your friend and consultant

We have a tendency to miss the obvious...

This happens all the time... how many times have you driven by that sign on the corner in your town and never noticed it? Have you ever walked right by something, several times, in a store and not even noticed it was there till you ran into it.

I love Italian food! I try and eat Italian at least one a week...I'm a sucker for pasta. I can usually spot an Italian restaurant a mile away and will stop and at least pick up a menu for future reference. That's why I was excited yesterday when I was driving through a strip mall and saw a "new" Italian restaurant. I figured they had probably just opened up, so I popped in to get a menu.

I was SHOCKED to find out that they had been there for over a year! I had driven by this strip mall at least 200 times in the last year and had never noticed them before now! I couldn't believe it.

The Internet is no different. If you have a web site, just like that Italian restaurant, you must actively and consistently market through every means possible to attract customers to you. There are always customers out there looking, just like me, for your product...your job is to make it EASY for them to find you!

CONSISTENCY IS THE KEY!

I had this one client who came to me in trouble.

He had a very good selling web site but very little traffic to speak of. He was testing his headlines and his call to actions trying to get more sales, but it was really just a numbers game. Once we ran the numbers we found out that he had an excellent conversion rate, but just wasn't getting enough people to the site to make and kind of sales volume.

Once I got him to understand the problem was not that his site wasn't selling, we could address the problem of getting more visitors to view his site. We implemented a full marketing campaign into his site including many of the ideas in my book and soon he was driving a couple thousand more visitors to his site each month...then he disappeared...

He figured that he had found the magic formula. He implemented some of the ideas in my book and got some good results and thought that was it. He was done. He thought he would continue to get these results forever...he would soon find out the error of his ways.

The most important aspect of your marketing campaign is that it has to be a consistent ongoing concern that you will begin now and continue for the life of your web site and Internet business. You can NEVER STOP MARKETING! In fact you should Always Be Marketing your web site and product.

There are always more customers out there who are looking for your product or service, always! You will never run out of fresh eyes that want to visit your web site and read about you and your product.

Your job is to always be seeking your visitors out and making it EASY for them to find you. That is what my book is all about. Using the secrets in my book, I help you make it easier for your potential visitors and purchasers to find you and your web site.

This client of mine had sent out a few newsletters, set up some PPC ads and did some SEO but then he got busy with the day to day running of his business, filling orders etc, and stopped marketing.

By not being consistent in his marketing campaign he lost the momentum we had built and his visitors and sales started to dry up. By the time he came back to me to find out what went wrong, we had to start all over again from scratch.

The final secret of my Dynamic Web Marketing Secrets Mini Course is: CONSISTENCY IS THE KEY!

1. Be consistent in where you market
2. Be consistent in how you market
3. Be consistent in your marketing message
4. Be consistent in your marketing campaign

It is only through the repeated, consistent marketing message to your potential visitor that you will convince them to visit your web site and begin to trust you as the expert in your field.

Remember that only a small percentage of visitors purchase on the very first visit, most customers make repeated visits to your site before choosing to purchase and some can take up to 6 months or more before deciding to trust you enough to purchase.

Be consistent in your marketing campaign and over time you will exponentially gain Tons of High Quality Targeted Traffic to Your Web Site Each Month!

Sincerely,
Your friend and consultant

A customer called me the other night complaining...

No no no, he wasn't complaining about me. In fact, he wasn't even complaining about the amount of web site traffic that I had generated for him over the past 6 months...he was complaining, that although he was getting several hundred unique targeted visitors to his site each day using my techniques, his site was not converting. He wasn't selling squat!

It's actually a common problem I run into with my customers who have had other people build their web sites to "save money", then enlist my help to drive traffic to their "non-selling" site. It doesn't take to long for them to come back to me and want to know where their sales are.

I told him about my new e-book that I had just written that is included my Dynamic Web Marketing Secrets DELUXE EDITION: How To Create A Web Site That Sells!

Today I'm going to give you one secret from that book that you can use to improve your conversion rate on your way to making your web site one that sells!

Matt Man!

The most horrendous, ugliest web sites ever created...

Some of the top SELLING web sites out there today are, in my opinion, some of the most horrendous, ugliest web sites ever created… BUT THEY SELL!

The lesson for today is, don’t get hung up on the design!

The tips in my e-book: How TO Create A Web Site That Sells! explain how to create a web site that sells in extreme detail. I tell you everything I have learned over the past 14 years to entice people to hand over their hard earned cash to you in exchange for your product or service. In fact, they really will have no choice if you do it right. You can and should take every one of the tips in my book and implement them into your web site immediately!

For today though, I want to talk to you specifically about the design of your web site. The layout template of your site should not turn the visitor off, but should entice him with relevant graphics that pertain directly to the BENEFIT of the product or service that they are looking to achieve by purchasing your product.

The secret today is: Make sure the design speaks directly to the benefit they will achieve from your product or service and not just some irrelevant award winning, cool, hot, NOW design copied from MTV. We want the design to work for us in our selling strategy, not win design awards.

Keep the following in mind when coming up with the overall design template of your web site.

1. Choose an attractive appealing color scheme, something that creates minimal eyestrain, something that makes the viewer "feel" the way they want to "feel" after they have received the benefit of your product or service.
2. Keep your header graphic no more than 100 - 150 pixels high leaving vertical room on your page for your headline and sales copy on the first page (above the fold).
3. Use a compelling sales copy sentence in your header graphic that pertains to the benefit of your product or service.
4. Design your site for no more than 800 pixels wide. Not everyone has a Mega Huge monitor and laptops still require a fairly narrow site to avoid horizontal scrolling.
5. Use as much vertical space as necessary to communicate your message fully.
6. Check browser compatibility to make sure your site looks the same on MAC and PC and on every browser available on each platform.

Using these tips above and the multiple pages of additional detailed tips in my e-book: How To Create A Web Site That Sells! you to can design or re-design your site into a web site that sells!

*** How To Create A Web Site That Sells! is only Available in the DELUXE EDITION of Dynamic Web Marketing Secrets. I bought a new rug for my office last night...

I didn't really go looking for a new rug, but there it was. I was in this furniture store looking for a table and chairs for the nook and couldn't find anything. So I walked around the corner and there is this rug. It's a geometric pattern about 5' x 7' and the perfect size and shape to fit under my desk in my office.

It grabbed my attention and made me stop walking to check it out. I was thinking about that this morning as I wrote this e-mail. That is exactly what a good subject line should do in your email marketing campaigns. So that's what I'm going to talk to you about today.

Matt Man!

The single thing determines if your customer will open your e-mail

In order to write a compelling subject line for your emails you have to know precisely, exactly who you are talking to.

Just this weekend I was at a seminar where the speaker described his perfect customer in a single specific paragraph. His prospective customer was:

A married 35 year old man with 2 – 3 kids, working a full time job, with a 2 hour commute a day, who worked out in his basement everyday because he didn’t have the time or money to go to the gym.

Now that is specific.

You too have to know precisely who you are writing to in order to write a compelling subject line that will stop that person in their tracks and say: I have to read more about this!

Once you know precisely whom you are selling to, you can begin speaking directly to them. You subject line is the single most important line of copy on your email. It is the single thing determines if your target customer will open and read your email.

Online marketing experts suggest the following elements be included in your subject line:

1. Write a personal compelling descriptive single sentence promising to answer their question or solving their problem
2. You must be able to see and read the subject line fully without it cutting off into .... 's
3. Make sure to use proper grammar in your subject line
4. The headline must cause the reader to HAVE TO open the email to read what is next

and more... hey, I can't give it all away!

Until tomorrow...
